Gavin Duarte (he / him)
Educational and Developmental Psychologist

Gavin Duarte (he/him) is a registered Educational and Developmental Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor with five years of experience providing psychological services to young people and adults across the lifespan, and during life transitions.

Gavin has worked closely with relevant stakeholders (e.g. parents, educators, medical and allied health professionals) to advocate strongly for his clients, and to ensure they have received support to reach their own personal goals in life.

Gavin has worked in a range of educational settings (e.g. private, government, community and special education) to support young people, and their families with concerns related to their mental health (e.g. depression, anxiety, trauma, suicidal thinking, non-suicidal self injury), learning difficulties, those with different abilities (e.g. autism, ADHD, ID) and gender identities (LGBTQIA+).

Gavin is personable, non-judgmental, and utilises active listening to provide an environment where disclosures are not only encouraged but validated. He balances this with skill development through evidence based therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Gavin is accepting new referrals and is available for appointments on Saturdays.
